Help us build a creative city: support the MacLaren Annual Campaign

THE MACLAREN IS BUILDING A CREATIVE FUTURE FOR OUR COMMUNITY by offering art classes, tours and workshops for children and youth, fostering local talent, and providing unique experiences through our collection, our exhibitions and our public art projects. Last year, we engaged

over 50,000 people, including 16,000 young people. Your gift to the MacLaren creates opportunities for thousands of children, youth, adults and families to participate in programmes that enrich and expand their lives.

As the regional public art gallery for Barrie, the County of Simcoe and the surrounding area, the MacLaren Art Centre adds to the social, intellectual and creative fabric of this community.The MacLaren is also an architectural and cultural landmark in Barrie. It serves our community as a tourist destination, an economic driver and a catalyst for downtown revitalization, contributing to the success and vitality of this city while enhancing the quality of life in our community.

Up to 50% of the MacLaren’s annual operating funds come from the generous support of individuals, local businesses and community organizations. These gifts enable us to provide meaningful visual arts programming for all members of our community.

WHEN YOU SUPPORT THE MACLAREN’S ANNUAL CAMPAIGN, YOU HELP US TO:

Encourage young people to develop and showcase their talent through initiatives such as the Barrie Banner Project and our annual

Portfolio exhibition;

Celebrate our heritage, promote tourism and bring new art into the community through our annual four-day arts festival, Carnegie Days;

Engage the public at special events throughout the city including Winterfest, Kempenfest and Celebrate Barrie; and

Enhance the enjoyment and understanding of visual art through artist talks, lectures, gallery tours and art classes for people of all ages

and abilities.

The MacLaren would not be the organization is it without the overwhelming level of community support we receive from volunteers, community groups, benefactors, donors and our corporate partners. They are responsible for our success! The MacLaren offers several circles of support for both individuals and corporations, with special benefits and opportunities.
