Radio Cafe Position
Position: Permanent, Part Time
Saturdays, two Sundays per month and Mondays guaranteed.
Event hours available. Salary: $10.25 hourly plus gratuities

Job Description:
The Radio Café is located inside the MacLaren Art Centre. It opens at 7 am Monday through Saturday and serves a variety of breakfast items, premium coffees and teas, and a variety of healthy lunch options. The café closes at 4:30 pm on weekdays, and 4pm on Saturdays. On Sundays, the café is open from 10 am to 4 pm. The café also provides catering for many of the events here at the gallery including meetings, lunches and dinners, opening receptions and donor events. We also co-ordinate the bars for all events including weddings and holiday parties.
Requirements:
Reporting to the café manager, this position involves learning the day to day operations of the café. The position involves greeting and serving customers, filling their orders and handling cash. Constant cleaning and restocking of the café is required. Menu knowledge, as well as preparing entrees will be taught.
The successful candidate will have:
- Post secondary training or equivalent experience in the food service industry
- Experience in food preparation, Espresso machine knowledge and bartending skills an asset
- Smart Serve Certification
- Ability to multi-task
- Cash handling Ability
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment Initiative
- Common sense and good sense of humor
